This is the senario… I will be graduating with my 4 year degree in December. I want to be a baseball coach and I have played in high school and at a two year college. A few months ago I started volunteering at a local community college with their baseball program. I very quickly realized that I had way more knowledge of the game than the "head coach". I carried on my business and started implementing my own work out before he got to the field every day to screw it all up. Basically, the guy has NO business on a baseball field. My question is: since I am technically not getting any good coaching experience from this school, if I were to quit, would this little experience I have gained to put on a resume be good enough to get future jobs in the coaching field? I know this is long winded, but any serious answers would be great!
There’s something fantastic about ones 1st baseball glove. If you met me, you would not expect me to be a very big fan of baseball. In reality, I am not so athletic, and I’ve never been very athletic. I’m more of an egghead in reality. I love math, chess, along with video games. As a point of fact, on the typical day I’m more likely to enjoy a baseball video game rather than play catch. Even so, there is something about my baseball glove that makes it so priceless to me that words and phrases are unable to capture it: the interconnection it gave me to my father.
The thing is, playing catch is something that dads and sons have been doing in this nation for generations, in addition to being a thing that they’ll keep doing for several more years. A baseball mitt is really a way for a teenage kid to link with his dad. My dad was a fairly average American father. He was kind of private and stern, and had a very difficult time relating his feelings.
